WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD KICKS OFF SEASON AT URI PENTATHLON

RESULTS

KINGSTON, R.I. – Sophomore Kaitlyn Dugan (Hatfield, Pa.) and freshmen Jacky Mendes (Dayton, Maine) and Danica Goodheart (Meredith, N.H.), of the University of New Hampshire women’s indoor track and field team, placed fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively, at the 15th annual University of Rhode Island Pentathlon at the Mackal Field House.   

Dugan, who amassed 2,865 points, finished the 60-meter hurdles in 10.27 seconds, submitted a leap of 1.53 meters in the high jump, posted a toss of 7.54 meters in the shot put, recorded a distance of 5.08 meters in the long jump and completed the 800 meters in two minutes, 37.91 seconds.   

Mendes tallied 2,820 points and completed the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 10.32 seconds, produced a leap of 1.53 meters in the high jump, posted a toss of 7.57 meters in the shot put, recorded a distance of 4.94 meters in the long jump and finished the 800 meters in 2:37.90.   

Goodheart finished the 60-meter hurdles in 10.01 seconds, submitted a leap of 1.44 meters in the high jump, posted a toss of 9.84 meters in the shot put, recorded a distance of 5.11 meters in the long jump and completed the 800 meters in 2:53.60 seconds on her way to tallying 2,800 points.   

Both squads kick off their seasons Saturday, Dec. 6 at the Northeastern Husky Invitational at the Reggie Lewis Center.
