DURHAM, N.H. -- Lauren Knight (Centerville, Mass.) captured first place in the shot put and Kristen Meisner (Nashua, N.H.) took first place in the 800-meter run to lead the University of New Hampshire women's track and field team to Saturday's first-place finish at the UNH Wildcat Invitational II, which was held at the Reggie F. Atkins Track and Field Facility.

The Wildcats compiled 170 points to place them above Dartmouth College (155 points) and Quinnipiac University (21 points).

Knight and Meisner’s top finishes were a part of eight first-place finishes for UNH on the day. Meisner led the field in the 800m with a time of 2 minutes 14.88 seconds. Leighann Carpenter (Princeton, Mass.) finished second (2:16.26) while Katie Litwinowich (Holden, Mass.) placed third (2:16.43).

Freshman Melissa Murphy (Rockland, Mass.) led a sweep of the top three spots in the 100m dash. Murphy finished first with a time of 13.52 seconds. Junior Katie Louvitakis (Ludlow, Mass.) placed second (13.54) and freshman Nastassja Alfredson (Topsfield, Mass.) third (14.74). Murphy also had a second-place finish in the 200m (27.08).

Junior Kaitlin Norberg (Medfield, Mass.) captured first place in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.44, Knight finished second (15.41).

Senior Megan Hepp (Milton, Vt.) finished first in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 11:05.64. Sophomore Heather Carmichael (Windsor, Vt.) finished second recording a time of 11:56.40.

In other field events, Rebecca Eldridge (Portsmouth, N.H.) earned first in the triple jump with a distance of 10.67m. Amanda Cmielewski (Englishtown, N.J.) was third in the javelin at 128-07, Lauren Tebbetts (Waterville, Maine) took second in the pole vault at 3.30m. Also of note, Katie Murray (Leominster, Mass.) finished fourth in the high jump, Eldridge was third in the long jump and Kimberly Usseglio (Watertown, Mass.) placed second in the triple jump.

New Hampshire won the 4x100m relay with a time of 50.09 earned second place in the 4x400m (4:05.85) and second in the 4x800m (9:53.19).

UNH returns to action April 22-24 as they compete at the Drake Relays on the campus of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. UNH will also be hosting a meet against the University of Massachusetts and Harvard University on April 24 at the Reggie F. Atkins Facility meet time is 12 p.m.
