UNH women host Wildcat Invitational track meet

DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire women's outdoor track team hosted the Wildcat Invitational I. It was highlighted by Caitlin Hayes (Keene, N.H.) win in the 5000-meter event. She ran it in 17:16.14.

Kiah Quarles (Derry, N.H.) placed high in two events for UNH. She took second in the long jump with a leap of 5.45 meters and she placed third in the 100-meter hurdles. Kaitlin Norberg (Medfield, Mass.) edged out Quarles for a second place finish in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.46 to Quarles' 15.49. Also taking home second place finishes were Chia-Ling Wu (Merrimack, N.H.) and Amanda Cmielewski (Englishtown, N.J.). Wu placed second in the hammer throw event with a toss of 46.92 meters. Cmielewski got second in javelin with a throw of 34.20 meters.

Melissa Murphy (Rockland, Mass.) took home a third place finish in the 100-meter race. Rachel Umberger placed third in the 400-meter event, edging out teammate Kristen Meisner (Nashua, N.H.). Cathy Parker (Westford, Mass.) was third in the 3000-meter run. Amy Roccio (Beverly, Mass.) placed third in the triple jump event.

Other notable performances for the Wildcats were Rebecca Haley (Dover, N.H.) who was fourth in the 800-meter. Megan Hepp (Milton, Vt.) was fourth in the 1500-meter. Chloe Harry (Tyler, Tex) took fourth in the 400-meter hurdles. Lauren Tebbetts (Waterville, Maine) was fourth in the pole vault. Kathleen Hoppe (Hopkinton, Mass.) was fourth in the triple jump event.

The Wildcats are back at home next weekend when they'll compete in the Wildcat Invitational II on Saturday April 16.
