DURHAM, N.H. – Juniors Cathy Parker (Westford, Mass.) and Reed Liset (Dover, N.H.) of the University of New Hampshire outdoor track and field programs travel to the University of Florida this Friday to participate in the NCAA Northeast Regionals.

Parker ranks fifth in the Northeast and is 11th overall in 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:13.69 as she looks to compete for an NCAA Championship in the following week. She is the current UNH and America East record holder in the steeplechase and most recently won the America East championship on May 5.

Liset is ranks 13th in the discus and 31st in the hammer in regards to the Northeast Regional rankings. He is 75th in the nation in the discus, while ranking 126th overall in the hammer as he looks to make strides to compete for a spot in the NCAA Championships. Liset tallied two individual victories in both the hammer throw (184-6) and in the discus (173-1), besting his own school record during the America East Championships. He was named America East “Field Performer of the Meet.”

Quarles cruised to her first individual America East title in the 100-meter hurdles at the conference championships and as a result selected to represent UNH and the America East in the Northeast Regional. Quarles raced to an impressive time of 14.44. The junior co-captain has enjoyed another stellar season most notably in the hurdles along with the long jump.
