WOMEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD SHINES AT WILDCAT INVITATIONAL II

– Junior Sarah Hall (Nottingham, N.H.) won three events and freshman Camille Quarles (Derry, N.H.) captured two for the University of New Hampshire women’s outdoor track and field team Saturday at the Wildcat Invitational II at Reggie F. Atkins Track.

Hall was first in the 100-meters in a time of 12.55 seconds, the 200 meters in 25.89 seconds and was the second leg of the 4x100-meter relay team that finished first in 48.97 seconds. Freshman Chelsea Canavan (Stoneham, Mass.) was third in the 100-meters in 13.28 seconds, while freshman Megan McGrath (Merrimack, N.H.) placed third in the 200-meters in 27.62 seconds.

Quarles grabbed victory in the long jump with a leap of 5.35 meters, and the triple jump with a mark of 11.45 meters. Freshman Megan Donohue (Stratham, N.H.) came in second in the long jump at 5.28 meters, while sophomore Esperance NDombe (Manchester, N.H.) was third in the triple jump with a mark of 10.36 meters.

Donohue won the 400-meter hurdles, racing to victory in a time of one minute, 3.32 seconds. Sophomore Kelly Thomas (Chichester, N.H.), senior Kiah Quarles (Derry, N.H.) and freshman Kaitlyn DiBuono (Auburn, Mass.) placed third, fourth and fifth, respectively, in times of 1:07.19, 1:07.46 and 1:08.14.

Kiah Quarles won an event of her own by finishing the 100-meter hurdles in 15.13 seconds. Senior Amy Roccio (Beverly, Mass.) and freshman Kathryn Early (Corning, N.Y.) were second and third, respectively, in times of 16.19 and 16.23 seconds.

Early also won the high jump with a leap of 1.60 meters. Roccio placed second, needing more jumps to reach 1.60, while freshman Kaitlyn Dugan (Hatfield, Pa.) was third at 1.55 meters.


Freshman Sibley Blum (York Beach, Maine) won the pole vault by clearing a height of 3.20 meters.

Sophomore Ashlee Lathrop (Sherburne, N.Y.) was also a winner for the Wildcats, taking the hammer throw with a distance of 46.14 meters. Senior Brienna Smith (Sandown, N.H.) finished second with a toss of 45.35 meters, while junior Sarah Crane (Londonderry, N.H.) was fourth at 41.26 meters. Crane and Lathrop finished second and third, respectively, in the discus with throws of 36.50 and 34.38 meters. Lathrop was also third in the shot put with a distance of 11.89 meters, while junior Erica DesRoches (Stratham, N.H.) placed fourth at 11.61 meters.


Senior Rebecca Haley (Dover, N.H.) placed second in the 800-meters in 2:17.04, while freshman Lindsey Jeltes (Oakland, N.J.) was third in 2:21.78.


Junior Kara Fisher (New Milford, Conn.) was second in the 1,500-meters in a time of 4:43.58, while freshman Mackenzie Ferreira (Westerly, R.I.) placed third in 4:45.05.


Junior Elizabeth Morrissey (Mt. Kisco, N.Y.) finished second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, crossing the finish line at 11:44.48.


Senior Kathleen Hoppe (Hopkinton, Mass.) was second in the javelin with a throw of 31.17 meters, while Thomas came in fourth at 30.31 meters.


In the 4x400-meter relay, the ‘Cats placed second in 4:13.13.


Sophomore Tracy Howell (Grafton, Mass.) finished third in the 400-meters in a time of 1:00.07.


Sophomore Latricia Rozeboom (South Haven, Mich.) came in fourth in the 5,000-meters in a time of 18:26.43.


The Wildcats return to action Saturday, April 19 at 11 a.m. when they travel north to take on intrastate rival Dartmouth College at Memorial Track.
