– Freshman Camille Quarles (Derry, N.H.) and sophomore Ashlee Lathrop (Sherburne, N.Y.) each posted a pair of top-10 finishes to lead the University of New Hampshire women’s outdoor track and field team at the Larry Ellis Memorial Invitation on April 18-19 at Weaver Stadium. The meet was a college/open meet.
Quarles placed second – the highest Wildcat finish of the meet – in the triple jump with an ECAC championship-qualifying leap of 11.90 meters. Quarles was also ninth in the long jump with a distance of 5.32 meters.
Lathrop submitted a sixth-place finish in the hammer throw with an ECAC championship-qualifying toss of 50.27 meters. Senior Brienna Smith (Sandown, N.H.) was 13th at 44.00 meters. Lathrop also placed ninth in the discus with a throw of 37.21 meters. Junior Sarah Crane (Londonderry, N.H.) was 12th at 36.52 meters.

Senior Amy Roccio (Beverly, Mass.) finished third in the high jump with a leap of 1.60 meters.

Senior Kiah Quarles (Derry, N.H.) placed fifth in the 100-meter hurdles in 14.77 seconds.

Freshman Megan Donohue (Stratham, N.H.) finished sixth in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of one minute, 3.53 seconds.

In the 5,000-meters, freshman Erica Jesseman (Scarborough, Maine) and sophomores Laura LaPlante (Hancock, N.H.) and Courtney Hamer (Andover, Mass.) finished 15th, 20th and 22nd, respectively. Jesseman finished in 17:29.60, LaPlante in 17:56.89 and Hamer in 17:59.00.

Junior Sarah Hall (Nottingham, N.H.) placed 17th in the 200-meters in 25.36 seconds.

Junior Kara Fisher (New Milford, Conn.) also had a 17th-place showing, finishing the 800-meters in 2:15.19.
The Wildcats return to action Saturday, April 26 at 11 a.m. when they host the Wildcat Invitational III at Reggie F. Atkins Track.
