– Freshman Camille Quarles (Derry, N.H.) won a pair of events and was one of six different winners to pace the University of New Hampshire women’s outdoor track and field team at the Wildcat Invitational III at Reggie F. Atkins Track on April 26.
Quarles grabbed victory in the long jump with a leap of 5.63 meters and the triple jump with a mark of 11.66 meters. In the long jump, freshman Megan McGrath (Merrimack, N.H.) finished second at 5.56 meters, while freshman Kaitlyn Dugan (Hatfield, Pa.) and senior Kiah Quarles (Derry, N.H.) tied for fifth at 5.36 meters. In the triple jump, freshman Megan Donohue (Stratham, N.H.), sophomore Esperance NDombe (Manchester, N.H.) and freshman Jasmin Washington (Waltham, Mass.) placed second, third and fourth, respectively, in jumps of 11.61, 10.94 and 10.90 meters. McGrath also was fourth in the 100-meters in 13.51 seconds.
Kiah Quarles also won an event of her own, finishing first in the 100-meter hurdles in 14.88 seconds. Freshman Kathryn Early (Corning, N.Y.), sophomore Tayla Ryan (Norwood, Mass.) and senior Amy Roccio (Beverly, Mass.) finished fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively, in times of 16.05, 16.07 and 16.12 seconds. Roccio also placed fourth in the high jump with a leap of 1.60 meters.
Sophomore Rita Ciambra (Hanover, N.H.) recorded another win in the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.80 meters, missing out on a school record by five-hundredths of a meter.
Junior Sarah Hall (Nottingham, N.H.) ran to a first-place finish in the 400-meters in 57.44 seconds. Freshman Kaitlin Kwiecien (Hampstead, N.H.) finished third in 58.87 seconds.
Senior Rebecca Haley (Dover, N.H.) was victorious in the 800-meters, finishing in two minutes, 16.00 seconds.
Freshman Erica Jesseman (Scarborough, Maine) placed first in the 1,500-meters, finishing in a time of 4:43.29. Junior Carolyn Durfee (Laconia, N.H.) was fifth in 4:47.56.
Sophomore Ashlee Lathrop (Sherburne, N.Y.) finished second in the hammer throw with a toss of 47.54 meters. Senior Brienna Smith (Sandown, N.H.) and junior Sarah Crane (Londonderry, N.H.) placed fourth and sixth, respectively, with distances of 44.15 and 42.30 meters. Lathrop was also fifth in the discus with a throw of 35.76 meters and sixth in the shot put with a toss of 11.26 meters. Crane was sixth in the discus at 35.48 meters, while junior Erica DesRoches (Stratham, N.H.) was fourth in the shot put at 11.74 meters.

Senior Jennifer Hitchcock (LaSalle, Ontario) finished second in the javelin with a throw of 38.15 meters.
In the 400-meters, Donohue and fellow freshman Kaitlin DiBuono (Auburn, Mass.) placed second and third, respectively, finishing in 1:02.79 and 1:04.82.
The Wildcats finished second and third in the 4x100-meter relay, with their “B” team finishing in 47.06 seconds and their “A” team finishing in 48.56 seconds. The ‘Cats also were third in the 4x400-meter relay in 4:01.27.
Sophomore Amanda Rusilas (Charlton, N.Y.) finished third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 12:22.65.
Freshman Michelle Trudeau submitted a pair of sixth-place showings, finishing the 100-meters in 13.70 seconds and the 200-meters in 27.29 seconds.
The Wildcats will return to action at the America East championships May 3-4 at the Beckett Track and Field Complex in Orono, Maine.
