UNH volleyball loses pair at Delaware Tournament

NEWARK, Del.- The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team lost a pair of matches in the final day of the Delaware Tournament on Saturday at Viera Court with a 3-2 loss to host Delaware and a 3-0 loss to Pittsburgh.

In the early match against Delaware (18-30, 11-30, 30-26, 32-30, 7-15), senior middle hitter Erin Walker (Fulton, N.Y.) posted a match-high 17 kills, while sophomore Emmy Blouin (St. Albert, Alberta) managed 12 kills and Caitlin Dowd (Portsmouth, N.H.) registered a career-high 10 kills in her second collegiate match. Walker was the lone Wildcat selected to the Delaware All-Tournament Team for her efforts on the weekend. Junior Sarah Rehn (Oceanside, Calif.) posted 44 assists and 10 digs leading the Wildcat offense in the losing cause.

In the late game vs. Pittsburgh (9-30, 16-30, 18-30), Walker posted a team-high six kills and Rehn notched 16 kills as the starting setter for the 'Cats.

The Wildcats return to action at home for an exhibition game against Bentley College on Tuesday, Aug. 30 (7 p.m.)
