BRONX, N.Y. – Senior Nick Decrescenzo (New Milford, Conn.) placed first to lead the University of New Hampshire men’s cross country team to its second straight IC4A title at the 100th IC4A Cross Country Championships Saturday afternoon at Van Cortlandt Park.

The Wildcats’ 107 points beat out runner-up Pittsburgh (137) and third-place Rutgers (195) in the 26-team race.

Decrescenzo crossed the finish line at 25 minutes, 31 seconds. Also placing inside the top 10 for New Hampshire was senior Brent Powers (Remsen, N.Y.), who finished the five-mile course in seventh place in a time of 25:56.

The Wildcats also had solid production from senior Marc Ouellette (Hopkinton, N.H.), freshman Alexander Beaulieu (Merrimack, N.H.) and junior Wesley Moseman (Remsen, N.Y.), who finished 24th, 36th and 41st, respectively, in the 235-man running. Ouellette finished the course in 26:23, while Beaulieu and Moseman clocked in at 26:39 and 26:41, respectively.

On the women’s side, freshman Elizabeth Campbell (Colonia, N.J.) and sophomore Sydney Fitzpatrick (Billerica, Mass.) placed first and sixth, respectively, in a time of 18:29 and 18:52 to lead the Wildcats to a 13th-place finish.

In the 23-team race, New Hampshire finished with a total of 307 points. Columbia finished the race in first with with 107 points, followed closely by Sacred Heart University (118) and Army (120).
