Women’s Cross Country Takes 13th at Paul Short Invitational
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Junior Keely Maguire (Georgetown, Mass.) finished 25th overall to lead the University of New Hampshire women's cross country team to a 13th-place finish at the 45-team Paul Short Invitational Friday on the campus of Lehigh University.
The Wildcats totaled 425 points in the College Gold race to finish first among America East teams, while Providence College captured first overall with 101 points.
Maguire finished in 21:09, while senior Sydney Fitzpatrick (Billerica, Mass.) placed 63rd in a time of 21:43.
Sophomore Elise Beattie (Woodstock, Ill.) also finished inside the top-100, as she placed 80th in a time of 21:58.
Junior Darcy James (Exeter, N.H.) and senior Jennifer Racine (Haverhill, Mass.) placed 104th and 153rd, respectively, at 22:14 and 22:45. Freshman Chelsey Serrano (Manchester, N.H.) finished 231st at 23:30, while sophomore Cayla Pellegrini (Derry, N.H.) finished 235th in a time of 23:31 to round out the Wildcat finishers.
The Wildcats return to action on Saturday, Oct. 8 when they take part in the New England Championships at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass.
