DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's and women's cross country teams will travel to the University of Maine for the annual dual meet with the Black Bears Friday, Sept. 19. The women start at 3 p.m. while the men start at 3:30 p.m.
The women, ranked 14th in the Northeast Region in the latest USTFCCCA poll, seek their third consecutive title after claiming first place in 2011 and 2012. Last year, Cayla Pellegrini (Derry, N.H.) finished third overall as she finished with a time of 18:49.8. McKenzie Haney (Penacook, N.H.) was right behind Pellegrini as she came in fourth place to a time of 18:50.7. Julia Credendino (Islip, N.Y.) finished the race in fifth place with a time of 18:51.6.
The men were edged by one point in 2012 as the Black Bears recorded 29 points to the New Hampshire's 30. John Prizzi (Wyckoff, N.J.) claimed fifth place with a time of 26:16.8 while Jeremy Wildgoose (Woodstock, Conn.) broke the plane to a time of 26:19.5 in sixth place. Luke Miller (Birdsboro, Pa.) finished eighth (26:20.7) to round out the scorers.
