Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Ranked in Top-15 Regional Poll
DURHAM, N.H. – The men's and women's cross country teams at the University of New Hampshire each earned spots in the USTFCCCA Northeast Region Poll released Monday.
The men's team broke into the rankings last week and currently sit in 14th. Junior John Prizzi (Wyckoff, N.J.) was named the America East Men's Cross Country Performer of the Week after his performance at the Boston College Invitational and led the Wildcats at the Paul Short Invitational. The junior placed 62nd of 395 runners with a time of 24:59.
The women's squad remains in the 10th after strong performances at the Paul Short Invitational. Senior Cayla Pellegrini (Derry, N.H.) finished first for the Wildcats in 105th overall of 401 runners. She finished the race with a time 21:53. The squad has been ranked in each week of competition in the 2013 season.
The teams are back in action Saturday, Oct. 12 as they travel to the New England Championships at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. The event is set to begin at 12 p.m.
