RESULTS
BURLINGTON, VT. - Jessica Little (Barrie, Ontario) and Jessie Ellisalcaide (Harpswell, Maine) both earned two top-place finishes, but it was not enough as the University of New Hampshire swimming and diving team fell to Vermont, 174-118, on Saturday afternoon at Forbush Natatorium.
Little broke a pool record in the 100-yard breaststroke with a first-place time of 1:06.47. She followed that performance with top-finish in the 200-yard breast, just missing another pool record with a time of 2:23.88. Little also earned a second-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley, timing in at 2:12.48.

BOSTON – The University of New Hampshire swimming and diving team earned fifth place at the Boston University Invitational. Jessie Ellisalcaide (Harpswell, Maine) led the way for the Wildcats with two top-place finishes, while Jessica Little (Barrie, Ontario) Amy Perrault (Kirkland Lake, Ontario) each had first-place times as well.
On Sunday, the Wildcats grabbed three top-place finishes, starting off with Perraults’ 200-yard backstroke performance, timing in at 2:03.89. Ellisalcaide then touched in at 50.90 to garner first in the 100-yard freestyle. Little continued the Wildcats’ success in the 200 breast, with a first-place time of 2:18.30, shaving off more than four seconds from her preliminary race.

CAMBRIDGE, MASS.- The America East conference announced Tuesday afternoon that Jessie Ellisalcaide (Harpswell, Maine) of the University of New Hampshire swimming and diving team had been named America East Women’s Swimming Performer of the Week for her performance against Central Connecticut this past weekend.
Ellisalcaide finished first in three events and led off the Wildcats top-place 200-yard freestyle relay to lead the Wildcats to a 171-128 victory over Central Connecticut.

NEW BRITIAN, CONN. – Jessie Ellisalcaide (Harpswell, Maine), of the University of New Hampshire swimming and diving team, finished first in three events and led off the Wildcats top-place 200-yard freestyle relay to lead the Wildcats to a 171-128 victory over Central Connecticut University.
The Blue Devils (2-2) got off to a good start, placing first in the opening three events to take a 36-19 lead after three races, but Amy Perrault (Kirkland Lake, Ontario) flipped the momentum in favor of the Wildcats (4-1) with their first top-place finish of the day as the sophomore touched in with a time of 59.04 in the 100-yard backstroke.

BALTIMORE, MD. – Freshman Jessica Little (Barrie, Ontario) of the University of New Hampshire swimming and diving finished first in three events, but it was not enough as the Wildcats fell to UMBC, 147-126, in the America East season opener on Sunday afternoon.
The Retrievers, who out touched the Wildcats by just .04 seconds in the opening 200-yard medley relay, earned top finishes in the first three events, before Amy Perrault (Kirkland Lake, Ontario) got New Hampshire started with a first-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 59.26.

CAMBRIDGE, MASS.- The America East conference announced Tuesday afternoon that freshman Jessica Little (Barrie, Ontario) of the University of New Hampshire swimming and diving team had been named America East Women’s Swimming Performer of the Week for her performances during her first week of collegiate swimming.
Little earned two first-place finishes in her collegiate debut against Siena on Saturday then went on to be part of four top-place finishes against Wagner on Sunday, totaling 68 points on the weekend, including 45 individual event points.

DURHAM, N.H.- The University of New Hampshire women’s swimming and diving team finished garnered top finishes twelve events to earn its second consecutive victory, a 167-94 win against Wagner College on Sunday afternoon.
The Wildcats, who are now 2-0 on the season, opened up the afternoon with first and second place finishes in the 200-yard medley relay. The first team, consisting of sophomore Amy Perrault (Kirkland Lake, Ontario), and freshmen Jessica Little (Barrie, Ontario), Sarah Kanellas (Lowell, Mass.), and Anna Grylewska (Norwell, Conn.), touched in with a time of 1:51.06.

DURHAM, N.H.- The University of New Hampshire women’s swimming and diving team finished first in ten of 13 events to garner a 161-81 victory against Siena College in the season opener on Saturday afternoon.
The meet was highlighted by the performance of the Wildcat freshman class—combining for a 50-point contribution for the Wildcats— especially the two first-place efforts by freshman Jessica Little (Barrie, Ontario).

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- The University of New Hampshire women’s swimming and diving team was chosen third in the America East Preseason Coaches Poll as recently release by the conference. UMBC Retrievers have been picked to win the 2009 America East Swimming and Diving Championship for the third consecutive year, according to the preseason coaches’ poll, but not without a little competition. Boston University Terriers (32 points, two first-place votes) are nipping at the heels of the defending Retrievers (35 points, four first place votes), trailing them by only three points in the poll. New Hampshire (24) was picked to finish third, just edging past Vermont (23) in fourth, with Maine (15), Binghamton (11) and Stony Brook (7) rounding out the league.

UNH HONOR ROLL
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – A total of 201 University of New Hampshire student-athletes were named to the 2008 America East Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll for recording a grade point average of 3.0 or above in that winter/spring semester, the league announced Thursday. Of the 201 honored, 113 of those were also named to the Commissioner’s Honor Roll for possessing a gpa of at least 3.5, the most of any of the other institution.
In the nine-member America East conference, only Binghamton University (251 honorees) had a higher number of student-athletes recognized. The University at Albany (198), the University of Vermont (197) and Stony Brook University (188) rounded out the top five.
