VESTAL, N.Y. – Junior Lindsay Fogarty (Pleasanton, Calif.) posted a match-high 14 kills, but the University of New Hampshire volleyball team dropped Saturday afternoon’s 3-1 decision to America East foe Binghamton University at West Gym. The match scores were 25-18, 21-25, 21-25, 22-25. The Wildcats fall to 3-16 on the season, including 0-3 in America East play, while the Bearcats move to 9-11 overall and 4-0 in the conference.

The set scores were 25-17, 21-25, 25-21, 25-21. The Wildcats fall to 3-15 overall, 0-2 in league play. The Great Danes are now 9-8 overall, 2-0 in America East.

The last time Erin Walker and Stacy Barnett were together at the University of New Hampshire, the two helped lead the New Hampshire volleyball team to the first of two straight America East Championships.

It’s been five years since and for the Wildcats, that season would mark the last time then Assistant Coach Barnett and attacker Walker would join together to help lead UNH to prominence.

The University of New Hampshire volleyball team dropped a pair of matches to top-flight opponents during the final day at the Penn State Classic on Saturday afternoon on the campus of Penn State University. The Wildcats opened the day with a loss to top-ranked Penn State and fell to regional power Yale University in the their final match. UNH is now 3-11 overall, while PSU and Yale are 11-0 and 4-2, respectively.

The Wildcats captured their second-straight win and third in their last five matches as they improve to 3-8 overall. The Big Green is now 2-3 overall. The set scores were 25-20, 25-23 and 28-26.

Kirsten Bates (Calgary, Alberta), a junior outside hitter on the University of New Hampshire volleyball team, was named America East Player of the Week on Monday. Bates earns her second player of the week honor all time and first in 2008.
