Men’s Soccer Begins Conference Slate at UMass Lowell on Saturday (Oct. 3 | 3 p.m.)

Team Still Undefeated at 6-0-2
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's soccer team will begin its America East Conference portion of the schedule on Saturday, Oct. 3 as the team travels to UMass Lowell for a 3 p.m. tilt. The Wildcats are still unbeaten this season as they come in with a mark of 6-0-2.
SCOUTING UNH: The Wildcats come into the match after having a true week off to prepare. In their last game, the team played to a 1-1 draw at No. 21 Columbia University on the road. Senior Fazal Nabi (Portland, Maine) gave UNH a 1-0 lead in the second half in the 70th minute of play. Columbia tied the game in the 76th minute at 1-1. Freshman Chris Arling (Windham, N.H.) assisted on Nabi's goal. Senior keeper Ryan Carpenter (Newmarket, N.H.) made a pair of saves on three shots faced in the game.
Junior co-captain Chris Wingate (Hovik, Norway) and senior Ben Ramin (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) each have seven points on three goals and one assist to lead the team. With his goal against Columbia, Nabi now has two goals and has two assists for six points. Arling has five points on a goal and three assists. Senior A.J. Albers (Eagan, Minn.) has four points from a pair of goals as classmate Connor Pauley (Londonderry, N.H.) has four points on a goal and two assists. Junior Karl Frisk (Molndal, Sweden) has one goal and one assist for three points. Junior Riley Ellis (Goffstown, N.H.) and freshman Alex Valencia (Tracy, Calif.) each have two points from a goal as senior Lukas Goerigk (Berlin, Germany) has two points on two assists. Junior Duff Thomson (Newton, N.H.) has one assist for one point.
Carpenter has started all seven games he has played and has a record of 5-0-2 with three shutouts. He has a goals against average of 0.81 and a save percentage of .684. Sophomore Andrew Pesci (Windham, N.H.) has made one start and has a record of 1-0-0 with a shutout.
SCOUTING UMASS LOWELL: The River Hawks come into the game with a 5-4-0 record and are coming off a 1-0 loss at Boston University. The match was scoreless until the Terriers took a 1-0 lead in the 51st minute and did not look back. Lowell goalie Austin Kroll made two saves on three shots faced.
Wuilito Fernandes leads the River Hawks on offense as he has two goals and three assists for seven points. Guilherme Rodrigues has three points on a goal and an assist while six additional River Hawks have two points from a goal.
Kroll has started all nine games UML has played and comes in with a record of 5-4-0 with four shutouts. He has a goals against average of 1.11 and a save percentage of .706.
KNOCKING ON THE DOOR: For the past two weeks, the Wildcats have been the 26th team in the NSCAA NCAA Division I Men's National Top-25 Poll. In the most recent poll, UNH tallied 36 points in the poll. The team remained at No. 2 in the NSCAA NCAA Division I Men's East Region Poll, just behind the University of South Florida.
WHERE TO NEXT? The Wildcats take a one game break from conference play as they travel to Harvard University for a night tilt on Soldiers Field. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. The Wildcats then return home on Saturday, Oct. 10 and continue conference play with a game against Stony Brook University at 7 p.m.
