Women's Hockey Announces Incoming Class For 2015-16 Season

DURHAM, N.H. – University of New Hampshire women's ice hockey head coach Hilary Witt has announced that seven student-athletes, including two from the Granite State, will join the program for the upcoming 2015-16 season.
The incoming class is comprised of forwards Caitlyn Radatovich (Advance, N.C.), Devan Taylor (North Billerica, Mass.) and Taylor Wenczkowski (Rochester, N.H.), defensemen Marie-Jo Pelletier (Dalhousie, New Brunswick) and Jenna Rheault (Deering, N.H.), and goaltenders Hilary Cashin (Fredericton, New Brunswick) and Kyra Smith (Littleton, Colo.).
"I am excited to welcome this group of talented student-athletes to our team," second-year head coach Witt said. "They bring skill on and off the ice that will contribute to our success now and in the future."
Cashin is a 5-foot-11 goalie and 2015 graduate of New Hampton School, where her accolades included All-State Team, Lakes Region All-Star and E.G. Watkins Tournament MVP. As a senior in the 2014-15 season, Cashin recorded a 1.58 goals-against-average with a .946 save percentage and three shutouts in 13 games. One year earlier, she had a 1.65 GAA, .966 save percentage and nine shutouts in 28 games. Cashin played in 19 games as a sophomore with a 1.84 GAA, .926 save percentage and three shutouts.
Pelletier is a 4-11 defenseman and 2015 graduate of Rothesay Netherwood School, where she was a NAPHA league All-Star. She has also been named an All-Star multiple times at the World Sport School Challenge. Pelletier skated on the Team Canada U18 Team in a three-game series against the U.S. in August 2014 and has competed at the Canadian Nationals U18 tourney as a member of Team Atlantic for multiple years. In both the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons, she helped the Bathurst Northern Stars win the girls bantam AAA provincial title.
Radatovich is a 5-10 forward and 2015 graduate of the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School (Midland, Pa.) who has also attended USA Hockey Nationals camp. While attending PA Cyber, she skated for the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite U19 in the 2014-15 season, when she ranked among the top three in points (37) and led the way in power-play goals (seven). Radatovich previously attended Culver Academies (Culver, Ind.) and was a three-year letterwiner on the hockey team. She also skated for Team Pittsburgh U16 in 2012-13 and the Pens Elite U14 in 2010-11.
Rheault is a 5-7 defenseman and 2015 graduate of St. Paul's School (Concord, N.H.) who helped lead the Big Red to the NEPSAC Division 1 title as a senior. She was a three-sport athlete at St. Paul's and an All-ISL selection in hockey, soccer and softball as a senior, when she captained the soccer team. She was named the recipient of the 2015 ISL Award of Excellence for St. Paul's. Rheault was also an ISL All-League honoree in both hockey and soccer as a junior. She has also competed at the USA National Development Camp (2010-12) and skated with the East Coast Wizards club team.
Smith is a 5-9 goaltender and 2015 graduate of The Pomfret School (Pomfret, Conn.), where she helped lead to the NEPSAC Division 1 title game as a senior. In that 2014-15 season, Smith had a 1.33 GAA and .950 save percentage en route to garnering the Ashmead Hockey Award; her other accolades as a senior included Moffit Lacrosse Award and Edward E. Kelley PG Award. Smith competed at the USA National Development Camp (2009-12) and made the All-Star Game twice. She has also played for both the Colorado Select and Southern Connecticut Stars club teams.
Taylor is a 5-7 forward and 2015 graduate of Lawrence Academy, where she earned ISL All- League accolades in both hockey and soccer as a senior; she also helped lead the Assabet Valley U19 Red Major team to a national championship that year. Taylor's other awards included offensive MVP for the Spartans' hockey team as a senior and offensive MVP for soccer as a junior. Prior to attending Lawrence Academy, Taylor attended Billerica Memorial High School as a freshman and was named an MIAA All-Star in hockey.
Wenczkowski is a 5-7 forward and 2015 graduate of the Virtual Learning Academy Charter School (Exeter, N.H.); she previously attended Spaulding High School as a freshman. While enrolled at VLACS, Wenczkowski skated on the Boston Shamrocks club team and she was also on the U.S. U18 Select Team in 2013 and 2014. In 27 games last year with the Boston Shamrocks, she recorded 23 goals and 12 assists for 35 points.
