Doolin, No. 18 Gymnastics Roll to 196.075-189.700 Defeat of Yale

DURHAM, N.H. – Danielle Doolin (Medford, N.J.) set four personal-best scores and matched another career high to capture the all-around championship in the 18th-ranked University of New Hampshire gymnastics team's 196.075-189.700 victory over Yale University on Thursday night at Lundholm Gym.
The Wildcats swept the top three scores on all four events to improve to 2-1 on the season; Yale slipped to 0-1.
UNH returns home Sunday, Feb. 7, for the annual Wildcat Invitational quad-meet (1 p.m.) against the University of Bridgeport, Brown University and Towson University. Fans displaying their gym membership cards will receive a special ticket rate for the Fitness Day meet at Lundholm Gym. Tickets are available HERE or by calling 603-862-4000, extension 5.
Doolin made the most of her first career meet at Lundholm. The freshman scored a 9.800 on vault to tie classmate Nicole O'Leary (Newtown, Conn.) for third place. Doolin's 9.675 on bars (T-5th) equaled her career high on that apparatus. She added a 9.700 for sixth on balance beam before sharing the top mark (9.850) on floor exercise with senior co-captain Kelsey Aucoin (Double Oak, Texas). With a 39.025 all-around score, Doolin edged Casey Lauter (Northport, N.Y./39.000) for the AA championship.
The 'Cats outscored the Bulldogs on vault (48.950-47.050), bars (48.025-48.400), beam (49.250-48.025) and floor (49.050-46.225).
Elizabeth Mahoney (Hanson, Mass.) set the tone in the first rotation by totaling a career-high 9.875 on vault for first place. Meghan Pflieger (Barneveld, N.Y.) registered a 9.850 for second place, followed by Doolin and O'Leary.
Danielle Mulligan (Farmingdale, N.Y.) took first place on bars for the second straight meet; the freshman scored a 9.875 to edge teammate Jennifer King (Freehold, N.J./9.825). Jessica Gracia (Bahama, N.C.) made it a clean sweep with a third-place score of 9.775.
UNH posted the top six beam scores in dominant fashion, which included five marks of 9.800 or above. Pflieger and Lauter shared the beam championship with matching scores of 9.875, while Aucoin compiled a 9.850 for third place. Lia Breeden (York, Pa.) and Catarina Broccoli (Mystic, Conn.) shared fourth (9.825), with Broccoli equaling a personal best in the process.
New Hampshire finished with a flourish by recording the top six floor performances, headlined by Aucoin and Doolin. Lauter (9.825) finished third, followed by O'Leary (9.800), Breeden (9.725) and Cassy Izzo (Cranston, R.I.), who scored a career-high 9.700.
Yale's Megan Ryan tallied a 38.325 for third place in the all-around.
The Wildcats see action in their third meet in nine days when they travel to West Virginia University for a dual meet Sunday, Jan. 17, at 4 p.m. That starts a three-meet road trip that includes a quad-meet at Pittsburgh (Jan. 23 w/ George Washington, Temple) and the Don Tonry Bulldog Invitational quad at Yale on Jan. 30 (w/ Bridgeport, Southern Connecticut State).
