WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Freshman forward Patrick Grasso (Ankeny, Iowa) of the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team was named Rookie of the Month by the Hockey East Association on Wednesday. He is the first Wildcat to be named the HE Rookie of the Month since Grayson Downing in November of 2011.
Grasso currently has 10 points on eight goals and two assists. His goal total is tops among freshmen in the NCAA as is his power play goal total (5), power play points (6), and points per game total (1.67). He is first among all HE players in goals and is the top rookie point getter in Hockey East.

He lit the lamp once against Colorado College (Oct. 22) and dished out an assist at UMass (Oct. 28) before scoring four goals in a 6-2 win over Merrimack on Oct. 29. He became the first Wildcat to score four goals since Steve Moses did in 2012.
