GAME RECAP
- Albany scored goals at 27:02, 20:46 and 18:46 to build a 3-0 lead.
- Devan Miller (Bristol, R.I.) finished a feed from Laura McHoul (Westwood, Mass.) 40 seconds later to reduce the deficit to two goals.
- UNH had two chances to pull closer, but UAlbany goalkeeper Courtney Henderson denied Nicole Grote (Ellicott City, Md.) at 15:11 and again at 14:25 to keep the 'Cats at bay.
- The Great Danes quickly extended the advantage to 5-1 on goals by Rachel Bowles and Dakotah Savitcheff (5g) 36 seconds apart – at 13:13 and 12:37, respectively.
- Those consecutive goals ignited a 6-0 run to end the half that sent the visitors to the locker room with a 9-1 lead. Albany has had the first-half edge in shots (20-6), ground balls (7-1) and turnovers (1-8).
- The Great Danes netted the first two goals of the second half to increase the margin to double digits, 11-1, at 23:10. Albany utilized a perimeter passing offense to maintain possession most of the remainder of regulation to preserve its lead.
- UNH's Marissa Gurello (Manorville, N.Y.) and Carly Wooters (White Plains, N.Y.) scored unassisted goals at 12:11 and 10:43 to close the gap to 11-3.
UNH NOTEBOOK
- New Hampshire still controls its destiny in search of a berth in the America East Championship tournament. A win in next Saturday's regular-season finale at UBMC would secure the No. 3 seed for the Wildcats. A loss by Vermont to Binghamton would put UNH into the tourney.
- The three goals marked the lowest output for the season.
'CAT NIPS
- UNH's three seniors – Grote, McHoul and Hannah Wohltmann (Towson, Md.) were honored in a postgame ceremony.
- McHoul extended her point streak to 22 games with her first-half assist. That tally increased her career totals to 78 goals and 131 assists for 209 points.
- Sophomore attacker Krissy Schafer (Longmeadow, Mass.) saw her 12-game goal streak end. She was held scoreless on two shots.
- Wooters scored her team-leading 24th goal of the season.
