UNH CHEER WINS BEST ALL-AROUND TEAM AT NCA CHEERLEADING CAMP

DURHAM, N.H. - The UNH Cheerleaders attended the National Cheerleaders Association Cheerleading Camp at Boston University last week. The team competed with 19 other schools in various competitions and won \the vote for Best All-Around team and received a paid bid to the college cheerleading nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida in April 2009. UNH was voted by the other college teams in attendance and the camp staff as the Best All-Around Team at the camp with 133 points. UMASS Dartmouth finished second with 99 points.
UNH was also voted the "most spirited team" at camp. Other awards received included a first place finish in the Rally Routine Competition and Game Day Competition for Division I All-Girl and a second place finish against all participating teams in the Game Day Run-Off Competition.
First year team member, sophomore Jessica Colvin, also competed in the NCA All-American Competition and was selected as one of five NCA All-Americans at the camp.
The UNH Cheerleaders are currently fundraising for new cheerleading mats.
