DURHAM, N.H.-- The University of New Hampshire football team will be holding its annual Blue/White scrimmage on Sat., May 3. The action is set to begin at 1:30 p.m at Cowell Stadium and admission is free.
The scrimmage will give fans an opportunity to see the progress made by the returning players from last year's team as they prepare for the 2003 campaign.
Players are bigger, stronger and faster following their extensive winter workouts and are ready to show off the culmination of their hard work during spring practice over the last several weeks.
One player fans are sure to be happy to see on the field is senior linebacker Chris Robinson (Medford, N.Y.), who missed all of last season with shoulder problems. Robinson has practiced during the spring session and has impressed coaches the way he did in 2001when he was the team's second-leading tackler (29-31-60).
There will be many other familiar faces on the field as well, as the Wildcats return 38 of a possible 50 letterwinners from last season, not to mention eight starters on offense and nine on defense.
The Wildcats will open the 2003 docket on Aug. 30, when the squad entertains Central Connecticut. Game time is 3 p.m at Cowell Stadium.
