PHILADELPHIA-- Junior running back R.J. Harvey (Albany, N.Y.) was named Co-Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week for his outstanding efforts on Saturday, Oct. 25 in UNH's 38-17 victory at Hofstra University. Harvey set several career marks in the contest, including scoring four touchdowns for the Wildcats, with scoring runs of 5, 1, 3 and a career-best 77-yarder.
Two of his touchdowns were scored in the decisive fourth quarter, in which UNH rallied back from a 17-14 third-quarter deficit to score four times in the opening 5:32 of the final stanza to take the lead and the win. On the afternoon, Harvey also recorded his career-best for rushing yards in a game with 26 carries for 173 yards. He averaged an amazing 6.7 yards per carry in the contest.
Harvey now leads the Wildcats in rushing with 534 yards on the ground and 10 rushing touchdowns in 2003.
New Hampshire will enjoy an off week before returning home on Saturday, Nov. 8 to take on James Madison. Game time is 12 p.m. at Cowell Stadium.
