Ricky Santos Named CSTV: Offensive Player of the Week
Ricky Santos

New York, NY, October 5, 2004 - Ricky Santos has been named this week's CSTV: Offensive Player of the Week, after setting three school records as he led New Hampshire to a shocking 51-40 victory over Villanova Saturday on the road. The poised freshman hit 38-of-55 passes for 538 yards and six touchdowns, setting single-game records for completions, yardage and touchdowns. It was the third highest single-game passing total in Atlantic 10 history and the most ever by a freshman.

Playing against one of the toughest defenses in I-AA, Santos completed scoring passes for 29, 60, 35, 12, 2 and 45 yards. It was the most passing yards and TD passes ever allowed by Villanova. Santos found David Ball 11 times for three TDs as Ball set a school record with 284 receiving yards. The UNH signal-caller has thrown 16 touchdown passes and just two interceptions, completing 122-of-177 throws for 1,546 yards in leading the Wildcats to an unexpected 3-1 start. Santos has been named the Atlantic 10 offensive player of the week twice and the freshman of the week three times this season.

In recognition of his recent achievement, Ricky will be featured on the CSTV's I-AA Players Of The Week page of the CollegeSports.com website for the entire week.
