RICKY SANTOS SIGNS AS A FREE AGENT WITH THE NFL'S KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
DURHAM, N.H.— Former University of New Hampshire All-American and Walter Payton Award-winning quarterback Ricky Santos (Bellingham, Mass.) has earned an opportunity to compete in the NFL after signing as a free agent with the Kansas City Chiefs.
The owner of nearly all Wildcat passing records, Santos is expected to travel to Kansas City this coming weekend to take part in the team’s rookie mini-camp.
He is following in the footsteps of another all-time UNH great in wide receiver David Ball, who was Santos’ favorite target for three years, and broke Jerry Rice’s all-time record for touchdown receptions.
Ball signed with the New York Jets and is presently on the team’s roster, as is former UNH defensive back Etienne Boulay, who signed as a free agent with the Jets recently out of the CFL.
