UNH AND THE AMERICAN RED CROSS HOLD “BLEED BLUE” BLOOD DRIVE SATURDAY DURING HOMECOMING

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire's Wildcat Sports Properties and the American Red Cross announce the 2nd annual "Bleed Blue" blood drives, a series of New Hampshire-wide blood drives during September and October leading up to the Wildcats' homecoming football game on Saturday, October 9, 2010.

As part of the series, at each blood drive selected as a "Bleed Blue" drive, donors will receive discounted $11 Wildcat football tickets and be able to vote for their favorite UNH team—the team for which that donor "bleeds blue."

"The American Red Cross is again excited for the opportunity to team up with The University of New Hampshire Wildcat Sports for a second year," said Tom Houle, the Red Cross.  "The Bleed Blue campaign will continue to show the partnership between UNH and the American Red Cross, dedicated to providing hospital patients with lifesaving blood."  

Additionally, the "Bleed Blue" campaign will make a sweep of UNH's Durham campus with a four-day drive in the Memorial Union Building from September 27th-30th, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.  All on-campus donors will receive an exclusive "Real Wildcats Bleed Blue" t-shirt and other rewards.
The final drive of the "Bleed Blue" campaign will be at UNH's homecoming football game on Saturday, October 9th in the Lundholm Gymnasium lobby.  The drive will run from 9:30 AM until 2:30 PM.  For more information please call 1-800-262-2660 or go to newenglandblood.org/nh
