DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire football team will plant a tree in honor of fallen teammate Todd Walker (Edwards, Colo.) in a ceremony to be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, the University athletic department announced Tuesday. The tree will be planted at the Walk of Memory, the tree-lined walkway just in front of the Field House dedicated in memory of student-athletes, coaches, administrators and staff who have passed away.

Walker, 20, was shot and killed on Friday, March 18, in Boulder, Colo., during a robbery attempt while protecting a female friend he was walking home. UNH held a celebration of Walker's life at Lundholm Gymnasium on March 23 in front of more than 1,100 people with teammates sharing their favorite Todd stories. Walker was a student-athlete in the Whittemore School of Business and Economics.

The tree-planting ceremony will kick off a full day of football-related events, including the annual Blue-White Game at 12:30 p.m. that marks the end of spring camp.
