Former Wildcat RB Chad Kackert Named CFL Offensive Player of Week

TORONTO, Ontario – Former University of New Hampshire football player Chad Kackert has been named the Gibson's Finest CFL Offensive Player of the Week, the Canadian Football League announced Tuesday.

Kackert, a 
Toronto Argonauts' rookie running back, had his strongest game of the season against the Edmonton Eskimos on Friday night, July 29. The Simi Valley, Calif., native registered 20 carries for 139 yards and two touchdowns in Toronto's 26-25 road loss to the Edmonton Eskimos at Commonwealth Stadium. His longest carry of the game, a 23-yarder, is also his longest of the season. Kackert, who rushed for 2,587 yards (No. 7 all-time) on 462 carries (No. 9 all-time) in his illustrious UNH career, scored his first touchdown with an 11-yard run in the first quarter. His second touchdown, an eight-yarder in the second period, staked the Argos to a 14-1 lead.
