Evans Named BSN Football Preseason All-American

LEESBURG, Va. – University of New Hampshire junior linebacker Matt Evans (Hanover, Mass.) has been named to the Beyond Sports Network 2011 Preseason All-American Team, it was announced Thursday.

The BSN 2011 Preseason All-American Team is made up of players from the FCS, Division II, Division III, and NAIA levels.   Evans was selected based on his BSN College Network profile, statistics, awards, and evaluation of film. 

Evans' other preseason accolades include a place on the College Sporting News Football Championship Subdivision Preseason All-America Team, CAA Preseason All-Conference Team, The Sports Network/Fathead.com All-America First Team, Phil Steele's Preseason FCS All-American First Team, Phil Steele's Preseason All-CAA Team and on the Watch Lists for the College Football Performance Awards and the Buck Buchanan Award. The 6-foot, 233-pound middle linebacker ranked second in FCS football with 156 tackles last year, which was the second-highest single-season total in UNH history. In 2010, he was feted as a College Sporting News Sweet-63 All-America, a Walter Camp FCS All-America and an A.P. All-America Second Team representative.
