TUCSON, Ariz. – University of New Hampshire senior defensive end Brian McNally (Cornwall, N.Y.) will participate in the Casino Del Sol All-Star Game, a college football showcase to be held at Kino Stadium in Tucson, Ariz., on Monday, Jan. 16 at 8 p.m. EST. McNally will play for the Stars (East) team, coached by former University of Mississippi head coach Houston Nutt.
The Stars will oppose the Stripes (West) team, coached by former Fresno State head coach Pat Hill. The Casino Del Sol All-Star Game will feature more than 90 of the nation's best college football players from such schools as LSU, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Pittsburgh, West Virginia and Syracuse.
McNally, who was named to the CAA All-Conference First Team, FCS All-New England Team and tabbed an ECAC First Team All-Star this past season, ranked second in the CAA with 7.5 sacks, highlighted by a career-best 3.5 sacks in a win against Villanova on Oct. 8. The co-captain paced the Wildcats with 9.5 tackles for loss, totaled 26 stops (15 unassisted) and recovered a fumble while starting all 12 games for a UNH team that advanced to the NCAA Division I FCS Championship tournament for the eighth straight season, the longest streak in the nation.
The DE was named to the College Sporting News Preseason All-America Team, The Sports Network/Fathead.com Preseason All-America Second Team, Phil Steele's Preseason All-American Second Team and the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) FCS Watch List following a sensational junior season.
In 2010, the 6-foot-3, 272-pound defensive end was named a College Sporting News Sweet-63 All-America, an ECAC All-Star, FCS All-New England and All-CAA First Team after establishing the University's all-time single-season record with a CAA-leading 13.5 sacks.
