Durham, N.H.- Jessica Russell (Harrisville, R.I.) scored a pair of goals and added an assist, as the University of New Hampshire field hockey team defeated Towson University 3-1, Sunday at Memorial Field.
UNH finishes the regular season with a record of 12-6, 8-1 in the America East. Towson dropped to 5-13. The Wildcats enter the America-East Tournament as the number two seed.
Kelly Stowe (Topsfield, Mass.) and Marcie Boyer (Dillsburg, Pa.) added assists for the Wildcats, who outshot Towson 14-4. The Tigers were held without a shot in the second half. Kristin Iarrusso (Southwick, Mass.) also scored a goal for New Hampshire.
UNH plays Nov. 5th and 7th at Boston University in the America East Tournament. Other teams in the tourney include Delaware, Northeastern and Boston University.
