New Hampshire field hockey edged by Ohio, 2-1

IOWA CITY, IOWA. -- Erica Bundalo scored with 1:31 remaining in regulation to lift the Ohio University field hockey team to Saturday afternoon's 2-1 non-conference victory at the University of Iowa's Grant Field.

UNH fell to 1-4 on the season while Ohio improved to 2-6.

Following a scoreless first half, the Bobcats took a 1-0 lead when Kristen Hann scored a goal off a penalty corner at 49:17. New Hampshire tied the score on one of its nine penalty corners when Brittany Schneider (Middletown, Md.), with the assistance of MacKenzie Stuart (Washington Depot, Conn.), scored at 61:28.

Bundalo broke the tie at 68:29 to give Ohio the win.

UNH goalkeeper Christine Buckley (Walpole, Mass.) finished with eight saves while counterpart Jennifer Cote stopped 12 shots.

The Wildcats generated a 9-7 advantage in penalty corners and a 20-19 edge in shots.

New Hampshire returns to action Sept. 19 at the University of Iowa. The next Wildcat home game is Sept. 24 vs. Providence. Game time at Memorial Field is 7 p.m.
