SELLENGER NAMED AMERICA EAST PLAYER OF THE WEEK IN FIELD HOCKEY
Shauna Sellenger
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Shauna Sellenger (Londonderry, N.H.), a senior forward on the University of New Hampshire field hockey team, was named Player of the Week by America East on Monday.

Sellenger scored a goal in all three of UNH’s games last week and also tallied an assist to finish with a total of seven points. Her first-half goal against Fairfield University on Oct. 20 gave the Wildcats a 2-0 lead and the ‘Cats won by that score to secure a berth in the upcoming America East tournament. In the team’s first game of the week against Davidson College on Oct. 16, Sellenger scored what proved to be the game-winning goal when she gave UNH a 1-0 lead at 12:44; she also set up the last tally of the game in the 3-0 win. Sellenger capped the week with a goal against 12th-ranked Boston College; that tally sparked a two-goal spurt that lifted the ‘Cats into a 2-2 halftime tie with the Eagles.

Sellenger has recorded a point in 10 of 18 games this season and she leads the team in goals (six), assists (seven) and points (19). With those numbers, she ranks ninth in America East in points per game, eighth in assists per game and 10th in goals per game.

New Hampshire (9-9 overall, 2-2 America East) concludes the regular season this weekend with road games against the University at Albany (Oct. 27; 1 p.m.) and Sacred Heart University (Oct. 28; 3 p.m.).
