BOODY HONORED AS FIELD HOCKEY PLAYER OF THE WEEK BY AMERICA EAST
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Leah
Boody (Amesbury, Mass.), a senior forward on the
University of New Hampshire field hockey team, was honored as
Player of the Week by America East on Monday.
Boody recorded a goal and an assist to lead UNH to a 2-1
come-from-behind victory on the road against a 16th-ranked
University at Albany team that had surrendered more than one goal
in a game just once in 15 previous games. Her assist in the 29th
minute helped level the score, 1-1, and then she scored what proved
to be the game-winning goal in the 52nd minute.
In 17 games this season, Boody has recorded seven goals and three
assists for 17 points to rank fourth on the team in both goals and
points. In five America East conference games, she has 10 points
(four goals, two assists) to rank second in the league at 2.00
points per game.
New Hampshire (11-6, 3-2 America East) concludes the regular season
Nov. 3 (6 p.m.) at Harvard University. The Wildcats begin
postseason play Nov. 6 at the America East Championship with a
semifinal game at top-seeded Albany. Game time is 1 p.m. The
championship game is Nov. 7 (4 p.m.) at Albany.
