DURHAM, N.H.--The University of New Hampshire women's gymnastics team jumped into the top ten nationally this week after defeating Penn State University on Sunday. The women are ranked eighth, the highest ranking for UNH gymnastics in the history of the program.
UCLA took the top spot in the poll, followed by Alabama, Nebraska, Utah, Georgia, Michigan and Minnesota. UNH and Arizona are tied for eighth.
The Wildcats (2-0) pulled off an impressive win over Penn State on January 16, as the team recorded its fourth highest point total in team history with a 194.700. Freshman Michelle Harley (Collegeville, Pa.) led the 'Cats in the all-around with a second place finish and a four-event total of 38.675.
The UNH women's gymnastics team will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 22 at Massachusetts. The meet begins at 4 p.m.
