LaFountain did the Wildcats proud, placing fifth on balance beam with an impressive score of 9.875, tying her season-high for 2008. What makes this most impressive is the fact that she was topped only by four University of Georgia gymnasts, who took first place through fourth place in the event all with scores above 9.9.
Diodati also turned some heads on vault, posting a score of 9.750 among a very strong and impressive field of competitors. She also took 25th on bars with a 9.775.
UNH was a bubble team this year for the women’s gymnastics NCAA championships, as the 37th-ranked team in the nation. The NCAA field was comprised of the top 36 teams in the nation competing at six regional meets around the country.
