DURHAM, N.H.—Junior University of New Hampshire gymnast Helena Diodati (Scarborough, Maine) was named Co-East Atlantic Gymnastics League Specialist of the Week for her outstanding efforts on vault and bars in meets at Maryland and Penn State this past weekend.  She shared the honor with Kristen Simpson of George Washington.

Against Maryland, Diodati took first-place honors on vault with a score of 9.875 and she placed third on bars with a judgement of 9.80. in a narrow loss at Maryland (195.1-194.225).

In a quad meet at Penn State, Diodati posted a 9.825 on vault to tie for fourth place and she recorded a 9.825 on bars to tie for fifth overall. Penn State won the meet with a mark of 195.90, followed by UNH (193.40), Bridgeport (189.475) and Rutgers (187.525).

Diodati is presently fourth in the EAGL on vault with an RQS of 9.825 and she is tied for seventh on bars (9.735 RQS).

This marks the second EAGL honor of the season for Diodati, who was also named EAGL Gymnast of the Week on Jan. 19.

The Wildcats return home this weekend when they entertain George Washington on Sat., Feb. 28. The meet begins at 1 p.m. and tickets are available online at www.unhwildcats.com.
