Gymnastics Picked 4th in EAGL Preseason Poll
MORGANTOWN, W.V. – The University of New Hampshire gymnastics team was picked to finish fourth in the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) preseason poll, released on Monday. The Wildcats open the 2011 season this Sunday, Jan. 9, at 1 p.m. against EAGL rival Rutgers at Lundholm Gymnasium.

"We are focusing our efforts on improving from our fourth-place finish a year ago," head coach Gail Goodspeed said. "If our top-line performers reach their potential and we stay healthy, we are confident we can attain our team goals in this competitive EAGL season."
New Hampshire earned 32 points in the preseason poll. North Carolina State, with 44 points, was picked to finish first, defending EAGL champion North Carolina (42 points) was selected second and West Virginia (40) was picked third. Positions five through eight are Maryland (23), Pittsburgh (21), George Washington (14) and Rutgers (eight), respectively. Voting was conducted among the league's eight head coaches, who were not permitted to vote for their own teams.
