NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Hartford exploded for an America East Tournament record 117 points as it rolled to a 117-88 victory over the University of New Hampshire in men's basketball action on Friday afternoon at the University of Delaware.
The Hawks will play No. 2 seed Maine in the America East Quarterfinals on Saturday evening at 6 p.m.
The point total for Hartford (10-18) is its most since the 1994 season when it scored a school-record 122 points. A pair of freshmen also turned in outstanding performances as Pierre Johnson (Seabrook, Md.) matched his career-high with 18 points and Josh Odugbela (Barrington, R.I.) had career-bests of 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Jackson scored 21 first-half points to help the Hawks jump to a 59-43 lead at the break.
