UNH’s Janev helps lead Australia to 2005 FIBA World Championships

DURHAM, N.H.-- Sophomore center Blagoj Janev (Sydney, Australia) of the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team helped lead the Australian young men’s basketball team, the Crocs, to the 2004 FIBA Oceania Men’s U21 Championship.

With the win the Crocs have qualified to play in the 2005 FIBA World Championships for Young Men to be played in Argentina in 2005.

Among Janev’s highlights in the Oceania Championships was a 24-point, six-rebound performance in the opening game against New Zealand. He scored eight points in the deciding game against New Zealand.

Janev, a 2004 America East All-Rookie selection, will rejoin the Wildcats when they begin training in the fall.
