WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Senior Tyrone Conley (Burlington, Vt.), junior Brian Benson (Rochester, N.Y.), sophomore Chandler Rhoads (Berryville, Va.) and freshman Jordon Bronner (Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.) were all honored at the America East's annual awards banquet on Friday afternoon at the Harry Jack Gray Center on the campus of the University of Hartford.
Conley, who ranks fourth in the league at 15.3 points per game, was named to the America East All-Conference Second Team. Conley makes his first All-Conference Team after earning All-Rookie honors three seasons ago.
Benson garnered All-Academic Team honors, marking the second straight season he has made the five-member squad. Benson, who is a kinesiology: pedagogy major with a 3.48 grade point average, has put together a breakout season on the glass as he ranks second in the league in rebounding (8.2 rpg).
Rhoads was tabbed for the All-Defensive Team after consistently playing solid defense on the perimeter all season long. Despite guarding the opposing team's best perimeter player night in and night out, Rhoads has boosted his offensive performance (8.9 ppg, 2.8 apg) during his sophomore campaign.
Bronner, who hands out 2.2 assists per game and sports a 1.7 assist-to-turnover ratio, earned All-Rookie Team honors. Over his last nine contests, Bronner has collected 32 assists and turned the ball over just 12 times.
The seventh-seeded Wildcats return to action Saturday, March 5 at 6:05 p.m. when they take on No. 2 Boston University in the quarterfinal round of the America East Championship at Hartford's Chase Arena.
