DiLiegro Signs Pro Contract to Play in Italy

DURHAM, N.H.Dane DiLiegro (Lexington, Mass.), former center for the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team, recently signed a contract to play professionally with Assi Basket Ostuni of the Italian Basketball Federation.

"We are really happy that Dane is able to continue his basketball career at the pro level in Italy," said Bill Herrion, UNH men's basketball head coach. "We wish him the best of luck."

DiLiegro played in 116 games with 105 starts and left UNH as one of the greatest rebounders to don the blue and white. He finished his career second all-time in both rebounding (854) and games played (116), becoming just the 14th member of UNH's 500-points and 500-rebounds club.

He is a two-time America East Academic Honor Roll selection, and was tabbed for the Commissioner's Honor Roll as a junior. DiLiegro graduated with a degree in Tourism Planning and Development in May 2011.
