Men's Basketball Announces 2012-13 Schedule
DURHAM, N.H. – Head coach Bill Herrion and the University of New Hampshire men's basketball program announced its 2012-13 schedule Wednesday afternoon. The Wildcats will play 12 home games in 2012-13 as part of a 28-game schedule that features a full America East Conference slate and contests against Connecticut, Boston College, Penn State and in-state rival Dartmouth.
New Hampshire kicks off the season with a home game against Suffolk University on Nov. 10. From there, the Wildcats round out the month with five straight road games, starting with intrastate rival Dartmouth on Nov. 13. UNH will then visit Bryant (Nov. 17), NJIT (Nov. 21), and Holy Cross (Nov. 24) before taking on Connecticut on Nov. 29.
UNH opens the month of December with three straight home contests against Brown (Dec. 1), Central Connecticut State (Dec. 5) and Yale (Dec. 8). After the homestand, UNH heads back out on the road to wrap up its non-conference schedule with tilts against Boston College (Dec. 16), Penn State (Dec. 23) and Colgate (Dec. 30).
The Wildcats tip off America East action on Jan. 2 when they welcome reigning conference champion Vermont to Lundholm Gymnasium. The squad then hits the road for a pair of games against Stony Brook (Jan. 5) and UMBC (Jan. 9) before heading back to the Granite State for a three-game homestand versus Albany (Jan. 16), Boston University (Jan. 19) and Hartford (Jan. 24). UNH ends the month with road contests against Binghamton (Jan. 26) and Maine (Jan. 30).
Following a home game against Stony Brook on Feb. 2 to open the month of February, the Wildcats play four of their next six contests on the road. The 'Cats will travel to Vermont (Feb. 6), Boston U. (Feb. 17), Hartford (Feb. 20) and Albany (Feb. 28), and will host UMBC (Feb. 13) and Binghamton (Feb. 24).
New Hampshire concludes the regular season on March 3 when they play host to rival Maine.
The 2012 America East Tournament will be hosted by Albany at the SEFCU Arena. The tournament takes place March 8-10 with the title game being played at the home of the higher seed March 16.
