UNH hockey places five student-athletes on Hockey East All-Academic Team

Wakefield, MASS.- The Hockey East Association honored 38 men's hockey student-athletes who were named to the conference All-Academic Team on Monday afternoon.

Five Wildcats were among the honorees; including sophomore forward Eddie Caron (Hudson, N.H.), senior co-captain Patrick Foley (Milton, Mass.), senior forward Matt Hoppe (E. Lansing, Mich.), senior defenseman Mike Lubesnick (Northbrook, Ill.) and junior defenseman Tyson Teplitsky (Saskatoon, Sask.).

To qualify for the team, each player must earn a grade point average of at least 3.0 in each semester of active competition. The Wildcats boasted five players on the team, which was third best among the nine-team conference.

Hoppe is a three-time Hockey East All-Academic honoree, while Caron is a two-time member of the team. Hoppe also earned the Sid Knight Award in 2003 at the team awards banquet. the award is given annually to the Wildcat with the highest GPA each season. Foley, Lubesnick and Teplitsky earned the distinction for the first time in their Wildcat careers.
