WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Freshman goaltender Kevin Regan (South Boston, Mass.) of the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team was named Superskills Rookie of the Week for the third time this season by the Hockey East Association on Monday afternoon.
Regan picked up the eighth win of his UNH career Saturday night in a 2-1 win over Maine at the Whittemore Center. Regan made 29 saves, including 12 in the first period, against the Black Bears.
In nine starts as a freshman, Regan is 8-1-0 with a 2.48 GAA and a .926 save percentage. He has posted 30+ saves in six of his nine starts. In his last three starts, Regan owns a 3-0-0 mark with a 2.00 GAA and a .935 save percentage.
The No. 7 ranked Wildcats (18-7-3, 11-3-2 HE) return to action at home on Friday, February 11 vs. the University of Massachusetts. Game time at the Whittemore Center is 7 p.m.
