WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Sophomore forward Jacob Micflikier (Winnipeg, Manitoba) of the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team was named CCM Hockey Player of the Week for the second straight week by the Hockey East Association on Monday afternoon.
Micflikier, who won the award for the third time in his Wildcat career, had another strong week with a six-point effort (2g, 4a) and a +5 plus/minus rating in two games against Merrimack and Northeastern, including a four-point effort against the Warriors on Wednesday. He has registered seven goals and five assists for 12 points in his last four contests to average three points per game.
He ranks third on the team in scoring with a career-high 37 points and his 18 goals are tied for second best on the team along with Brett Hemingway.
Micflikier leads Hockey East in scoring with 28 points and in goals with 14 in 20 Hockey East contests. Micflikier has amassed 75% of his point total in league play with 28 of his 37 points in conference action.
The Wildcat men's hockey team (22-7-3, 15-3-2 HE) returns to action on Friday, February 26 at Boston College. Game time at Conte Forum is 7 p.m. The game will be televised live by NESN as part of the league's "Friday Night Ice" package.
