UNH's Regan named Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week

WAKEFIELD, MASS.-- Freshman goaltender Kevin Regan (South Boston, Mass.) of the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team was named Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in his Wildcat career, as announced by the Hockey East Association on Monday afternoon.

Regan started two of UNH's three games last week and owned a 2-0-0 record, posting a 2.50 GAA and a .931 save percentage, stopping a total of 67 of 72 shots by Merrimack College on Tuesday and Northeastern University on Saturday.

In four starts this season, Regan owns a 3-1-0 record with a 3.00 GAA and a .925 save percentage. He has averaged 37 saves per start and his save percentage is 15th best in the nation among Div. I goaltenders.

The Wildcats (8-2-1, 5-1-0 HE) return to action on Tuesday, November 23rd at UMass-Lowell. Game time at Tsongas Arena is 7 p.m.
