DURHAM, N.H. -- University of New Hampshire head hockey coach Dick Umile announced the 2004-2005 Wildcat men's hockey schedule on Thursday afternoon.
The Wildcats begin the season hosting the IceBreaker Tournament for the first time in school history in early October. UNH will play host to Ohio State, St. Cloud and St. Lawrence on Oct. 9 and 10 at the Whittemore Center. The Wildcats open the season against the Buckeyes on Saturday, Oct. 9 (5 p.m.) at the Whittemore Center. The next weekend, UNH travels to Michigan on Friday, Oct. 15 at Yost Ice Arena and on Sunday, Oct. 17 the 'Cats travel to play the Michigan State Spartans at Munn Ice Arena in Lansing.
The Wildcats open Hockey East play at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester (N.H.) on Friday, Nov. 5 (7 p.m.) against conference rival Boston University and then travel to Maine on Sunday, Nov. 7 for a single game vs. the Black Bears at Alfond Arena.
In late December, UNH heads to the Great Lakes Invitational at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Mich. The 'Cats face Michigan State in the first round on Wednesday, Dec. 29 and face either Michigan or Michigan Tech on Thursday, Dec. 30.
On Wednesday, January 12th, UNH and intrastate rival Dartmouth College square off at the Verizon Wireless Arena in the annual "Battle for the RiverStone."
The 'Cats play at Boston College on Jan. 22 and Feb. 25 at Conte Forum. UNH plays host to Maine for contests on Friday, Feb. 4 at the Whittemore Center and Saturday, Feb. 5 at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester.
They will also play Boston College at home on Saturday, Feb. 26 and Boston University on Saturday, March 5 at the Whittemore Center. UNH will face Boston University on Thursday, March 3 in the first game between the two schools at the new Agganis Arena in Boston.
