UNH's LeBlanc selected by Chicago in NHL Draft

LeBlanc (5-11, 195) skated with Hamilton Red Wings on the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League (OPJHL) for the last two seasons. LeBlanc tallied 10 goals and 12 assists for 22 points in 20 games in 2005-2006 and 14-22-36 in 49 games in 2004-2005. He earned OPJHL Rookie of the Year honors with the Red Wings in 04-05 and was invited to the CJAHL All-Star game in 2006.

LeBlanc becomes the 80th all-time Wildcat in the history of the program to be chosen in the NHL Draft.

UNH will feature six NHL draftees on its 2006-2007 roster. In addition to LeBlanc, Joe Charlebois (Chicago), Brian Foster (Florida), Brett Hemingway (Colorado), Kevin Regan (Boston), Craig Switzer (Nashville) have all been selected in the draft.
