Micflikier named Hockey East Player of the Week

DURHAM, N.H.-- Junior forward Jacob Micflikier (Winnipeg, Manitoba) of the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team was named CCM/Reebok Player of the Week by the Hockey East Association on Monday afternoon for the second time this season.

Micflikier registered two goals and five assists for seven points on the weekend at Vermont and St. Lawrence. He posted four points (1g, 3a) in the 4-3 win vs. St. Lawrence on Saturday night and three points (1g, 2a) in the 3-3 tie with Vermont on Friday night. Micflikier had a hand in all of UNH's seven goals over the weekend against the Catamounts and Saints.

He has notched nine points in his last four games for an average of 2.25 points per contest. Micflikier ranks second on the team in scoring with 22 points and his 15 assists ranks tied for first along with linemate Daniel Winnik. Micflikier and Winnik also rank first in Hockey East scoring with 16 points in 11 league games.

Micflikier's 1.38 points per game ranks 24th on the national Div. I scoring leaderboard and his 0.94 assists per contest ranks 15th among Div. I players.

The No. 9 ranked UNH Wildcats (8-5-3, 6-3-2 Hockey East) return to action at home on Thursday, Dec. 8 vs. Harvard University. Game time at the Whittemore Center is 7 p.m.
