FOSTER AND POLLASTRONE EARN HOCKEY EAST WEEKLY HONORS
    Wakefield, MASS. – Sophomore forward Jerry Pollastrone (Revere, Mass.) and freshman goaltender Brian Foster (Pembroke, N.H.) of the University of New Hampshire men’s hockey team were named CCM/RBK Player of the Week and Superskills Hockey Rookie of the Week by the Hockey East Association on Monday.

    Pollastrone, who won the award for the first time in his Wildcat career, had one of his best week’s as a Wildcat registering five points (3g, 2a) in two wins against the UMass-Lowell River Hawks last weekend. He totaled a career-high four points (2g, 2a) in the 5-2 win at Tsongas Arena on Friday and notched the game-winning goal in both contests.
    Foster made his first collegiate start for the ‘Cats on Saturday night at the Whittemore Center and stopped all 26 shots by Lowell for his first career shutout in the victory.
    Pollastrone ranks fifth on the Wildcat roster in scoring with 13 points (5g, 8a) to go along with a +12 plus/minus rating. His point total in seventh best among conference skaters and his eight points in league play is tied for ninth on the Hockey East leaderboard. Pollastrone has amassed at least one point in seven of UNH’s 10 games with three multi-point efforts to his credit. Foster had previously only seen time in one other game this season, playing six minutes and 25 seconds in the 7-2 win at Colorado College on Oct. 21.
    The No. 8 ranked Wildcat men’s hockey team (7-2-1, 5-1-1 HE) returns to action on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at Boston College. Game time at Conte Forum is 7 p.m.
